When Meatheads Attack
‘Punishing’ Obama for not wanting to ‘punish’ his daughters
Obama urges sex education that includes contraceptive information, and has more than once sought to emphasize its value by remarking he would not want his young daughters punished with a baby or with an STD for “making a mistake.”
I believe he said it again, in fact, during the Chris Matthews interview broadcast last night.
Conservatives are now jumping on him for using such language, saying regarding a baby in such as case as a punishment is an unacceptable attitude toward new life.
This attack is laughably inept first because conservatives for many years argued against the availability of contraception for the reason that bad girls deserve to be punished with unwanted babies or sexual diseases or both, and that this justice would often be prevented by contraception.
Not a few will tell you outright that such consequences are God’s way of punishing these behaviors.
And it is laughably inept in the second place because everyone with young girls at home is right there with him.
